Where No Man Has Gone Before

An improvised space parody
Performing this Memorial Day weekend at Seattle’s Jewel Box Theater

Seattle, Wa—Adventure! Beautiful women! Exotic alien worlds! Seattle Experimental Theater invites you to start your Memorial Day Weekend right with out of this world comedy from Where No Man Has Gone Before.

Where No Man Has Gone Before is an improvised parody of the original Star Trek TV series. The crew beams down to an alien planet, only to find something amiss. Each night the cast uses suggestions from the audience to create the world, and the plot of the show. Every performance is a completely different adventure.

Where No Man Has Gone Before has played at various Seattle venues, receiving popular and critical acclaim. It has been featured in the Hawaii Improv Festival, The Seattle Festival of Improv Theater, and at Emerald City Comiccon 2013.

Where No Man Has Gone Before is created and directed by Jeannine Clarke.

The cast of Where No Man Has Gone Before is Tony Beeman, Colin Madison, Cheryl Platz, Nicholas Schell, Wayne Pishue and Doug Willott.

Where No Man Has Gone Before will perform at The Jewel Box Theater at 2322 2nd Ave Seattle, WA 98121 at 8pm May 24th 2013.

Geek Comedy Improv Doubleheader on March 15th!

Fresh off the heels of fantastic performances at the Emerald City Comicon, two of Seattle’s geekiest improv groups join forces for a one-night-only theatrical experience at Seattle’s Jewel Box Theatre!

SET’s own hit improvised Star Trek parody Where No Man Has Gone Before joins forces with improv tour de force NERDprov for an evening of geeky hilarity.

NERDprov
NERDprov crosses the streams of geek culture and comedic improvisation, causing total protonic reversal, as well as an amazing show! Our audiences get to shout out their favorite geeky references, shows, movies, comics, music and games, and watch us bring them to life on stage! NERDprov began as part of the Emerald City Comicon in 2009, and has since performed at several cons, independant shows, and with Seattle Theatresports, along with special guest stars such as The Guild, LoadingReadyRun, Ian Boothby, Kris Straub, and more!

2014 Show Proposals – Now Open!

Seattle Experimental Theatre has been self-producing groundbreaking improvised theatre since 2011. We are now looking to expand our roster and are accepting proposals for both original improvised plays and scripted productions that align with our own charter and goals.

As our 2013 production calendar is already underway, we are primarily looking for show proposals to be launched in the 2014 calendar year.

To propose a show, please complete the Show Proposal form and return it to seattleexperimental@gmail.com. We will review all show proposals, and some proposals will be invited for interviews prior to final selection.

2013 Season Auditions: March 16

Seattle Experimental Theater will be holding general auditions for its 2013 Season on Saturday March 16. We will be casting for three improvised plays for 2013:

Where No Man Has Gone Before–An improvised parody of the original Star Trek series, now in its 3rd year of performances. We have performed at various local venues, Emerald City Comi-con and Improvaganza in Honolulu, HI. We will be performing every few months at various venues in 2013. Casting up to one woman and one man. Ages 18 and up.

An Improvised Wedding Show (working title): Wedding horror stories retold live onstage. Rehearsing/Performances in June and July 2013. Casting 6 women and 2 men, ages 18 and up.

The Doctor:: An improvised parody of Doctor Who. Rehearses/Performs in October and November(ends before Thanksgiving). Casting 6-7 women and men, ages 18 and up. Our Doctor has been pre-cast for this project.

Performers are paid as a percentage of the profits of the show.

Auditions will consist of group-based improv scenes. We will have two sessions: 1:45 to 3pm and 2:45-4pm. Please indicate which session you would prefer. Audition location will be revealed upon confirmation (Seattle area).
