Seattle Experimental Theater turned one year old last month, and we’d like to invite you to join us in celebrating our anniversary – or, if you prefer, “Spocking out!”

The party will take place THIS Thursday, August 2nd, from 7-10PM at Portage Bay Cafe’s location at 4130 Roosevelt Way NE in Seattle. Cocktail attire (or Starfleet uniforms) are encouraged and welcome.

Join us for complimentary wine, appetizers, door prizes and performances from the cast of “Where No Man Has Gone Before” prepared specially for this unique occasion.

All proceeds from the night will go to fund SET’s performance of “Where No Man Has Gone Before” at the Hawaii Improv Festival in September.

Tickets are $15 in advance and $20 at the door. Admission includes complimentary wine, appetizers, and entry for a door prize.

“The Journal” tickets now on sale!

Tickets are now available online for the world premiere of Seattle Experimental Theater’s new original production “The Journal”. One weekend only – July 27 at 8PM, July 28 at 2PM and 8PM, and July 29 at 2PM. (SET is happy to offer two matinee performances for the first time in our history!) All performances take place at the Odd Duck Studio in Seattle’s Capitol Hill neighborhood.

Auditions for “The Journal”

Seattle Experimental Theater is holding auditions for its new show “The Journal” June 9, 2-4pm. Callbacks will be held June 12, 8-10pm

“The Journal” will be an improvised long form comedy based on the works of Nicholas Sparks (The Notebook, The Lucky One, Dear John). We are seeking women and men of all ages for a cast of 6-8. Performers with at least 2 years of improv experience are preferred.

Rehearsals will be Sunday afternoons (time tbd), Wednesdays and Thursdays 7-10pm.

Tech dates are the evenings of July 22nd, 23rd, 25th

Performances will be July 26-29th at 8pm, with 2pm Matinee performances on July 28, 29th.

“Where No Man Has Gone Before” – the hit improvised parody of classic Star Trek – will return May 24, 25, and 26th with a new format, at a new theater, with new cast members! We’re celebrating our year anniversary by debuting “Space Madness” at the Ethnic Cultural Theater in the University District.

Returning cast members Nicholas Schell, Doug Willott, Cheryl Platz, Wayne Pishue, and Ali Gassert will be joined on the bridge of the Enterprise by new cast members Tony Beeman, Will Li, Randy Miller, and Tim Harahan. Don’t miss this hilarious new episode format! The cast will create a completely original parody episode based on the audience’s suggestions.

Announcing “The Journal”

Seattle Experimental Theater is excited to announce our second theatrical project: “The Journal”!

Seattle Experimental Theater (SET) will be launching an original long form improvisational show inspired by the works of Nicholas Sparks in July 2012. The show will be directed by Jeannine Clarke. Auditions will be held in early June.

“The Journal” will join “Where No Man Has Gone Before” (next performing in May 2012) in the list of SET’s active productions. Further information about both productions will be posted to this site in the next few weeks.
